Oakland Business is Green Business
Oakland is home to more than 100 certified Green Businesses and the City of Oakland has a goal to certify 100 more through the Bay Area Green Business Program.

Oakland Recycles is offering free technical assistance to Oakland businesses that are interested in becoming certified green businesses. To jump start the certification process, green business experts will be contacting Oakland businesses to introduce the Green Business Program and shepherd interested businesses through the certification process.

Distinguish your business in the marketplace as an environmental leader through the Green Business Program.

Take Your Business Global

    Small businesses seeking to grow their businesses and create jobs through exporting can turn to new, free educational videos created through a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, Inc. Magazine and AT&T. Through the public-private partnership, a series of video modules has been developed to inspire and encourage American small businesses to actively pursue exporting and to educate them on how to do so.

     The video series, Take Your Business Global features five main topics that guide small businesses through the process of exporting:

  3. Connecting with Foreign Buyers

The City of Oakland Business Assistance Center (BAC) has been opened now for over one year.  During that time our office has served and helped over two thousand clients to navigate the City’s permitting, zoning, business tax and license departments along with business counseling and outreach resources. The staff of the BAC thanks you for your support and we will continue to be your first point of contact for doing business with the City. We have a number of new and exciting things in the works for you, one of which includes our first client satisfaction survey that we will publish soon. Please continue to monitor our web site for new information on how to better operate your business and to obtain resources for growth.
